Slow Juicing Nutrients and Chemo
My sister was going through chemo and it was very difficult for her to absorb any nutrients, she was just to weak and her body could not digest. We started juicing and it gave her the energy she needed. The juice from the fresh fruit and vegetables was easily absorbed and did not strain the body or use to much energy.
I have done research and carrot juice seems to be very popular in the cancer juicing community. We tried all sorts of different juices, mixing fruits and vegetables to create all sorts of different combinations. If you or someone you know someone struggling from the effects after chemo treatments perhaps fresh juicing is a viable option for you as well. Just thought I would share this knowledge with you :)

Thank you for bringing this up. Maybe we should start a juice recipe board.
One special yellow carrot gets a lot of attention in the international cancer community. Turmeric.
- when choosing special foodstuffs or additions, i always check with my doctor to avoid conflicting effects.
- ginger root and fresh turmeric (yes, smell the carrot scent) blended in ghee tea work well in my belly, read the nederlandse blog.
- There is quite a bit of scientific material on turmeric, no evidence of cancer cure though in living humans. It helped me coping when I did systemic therapies.
- Turmeric mixes well with spicy vegetables, nuts and sweet fruits alike, hot and cold. Always use fat to emulsify and freshly ground black pepper to improve bioavailability.
- if digestible, I prefer all fruits in their natural coat. Juicing helps.
- search kanker.nl for juice or kurkuma (= turmeric, Curcuma longa) and you'll stumble on lots more
- I blogged on how to use it.
- Check our library and discussies for themes like nutrition.
- Don't forget the nutty bits in your juice! Peanuts add flavor and calories too.
My question for you: should we read/write more English on kanker.nl? (Or should expats learn Dutch?) ;))Chromo
